Alexia Bertrand

Alexia Bertrand is an attorney with Clifford Chance (Brussels, Belgium) and a teaching and research assistant in commercial and corporate law at the University of Louvain-La-Neuve in Belgium. She has taught corporations to fourth year law students there since 2002, with a specific emphasis on recent corporate deals.

In her practice as an attorney, Alexia focuses on corporate transactions, mainly mergers and acquisitions. She has also practiced law in New York where she was involved in corporate finance transactions with Brazil. She passed the New York bar examination in 2005.

Alexia brings her experiences in corporate transactions and teaching to negotiation training and consulting. Selected by Harvard faculty to join their teaching team, Alexia has taught negotiation theory and practice to Harvard Law Students.

Alexia earned her J.D. ("Licence en droit") magna cum laude from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve in Belgium. She spent her last semester of law school in Madrid, Spain at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas. She obtained her bachelors in law ("candidature en droit") magna cum laude in the bilingual French-Dutch program from the Facultes Universitaires St Louis in Brussels.

Alexia also holds an LL.M degree from Harvard Law School where she was a Frank Boas (Fulbright) and a Belgian American Educational Foundation Scholar. In addition to English, she is fluent in French, Dutch and Spanish.
